Is This Distribution Protection Box Actually Weatherproof?
An exposed electrical setup isn’t the place to cut corners — wiring needs to be organized, protected, and easy to inspect, especially anywhere moisture or dust is a factor.
If you need an organized, weatherproof enclosure for a garage, workshop, or camper van setup, this is worth it. The tradeoff is that this is real electrical equipment, not a general storage box, and it deserves the same caution.
What I Noticed
During filming, I opened the enclosure, checked the transparent cover, and looked over the included DIN rail and connectors against what a real installation would need. The part that stood out was the transparent cover — a genuine convenience for visually checking things without opening the box every time. I haven’t personally exposed it to sustained water or dust to verify the IP66 rating myself; that’s the manufacturer’s spec, not something I tested directly.
What Makes This Distribution Box Different
- PC/ABS alloy plastic construction — durable enclosure built for real electrical distribution setups
- Transparent cover — visually check the inside without opening the box every time
- IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating, per the manufacturer — suited for covered outdoor areas, workshops, and camper vans
- 275 x 110 x 315mm size with a DIN rail included for organized breaker mounting
Installation Questions
Can I install this myself?
If you’re not a trained or qualified electrician, this is best left to a professional, given it’s real electrical equipment governed by local code.
Does it come with everything I need?
It includes the box, one DIN rail, four screws, and four M20 waterproof connectors — though you’ll still need the circuit breakers and wiring appropriate to your specific project.
