Hi, I’m Valerie.

I run a dog training business — and I love it — but a few years ago I went looking for something extra. Something that wasn’t tied to clients or somebody else’s schedule, and that let me use a little creativity for once.

At a 4th of July get-together, a relative mentioned she was doing the Amazon Influencer Program. That was all it took. I started working toward getting approved not long after, and Valerie Finds It grew from there.

Home base is rural South Carolina, where my husband Steve and I keep a genuinely full house — 7 dogs and 2 cats, to be exact. There’s no real overlap between that and the dog training business, honestly. We just happen to have a house full of animals, which is exactly why you’ll find so many pet products reviewed here. Nothing gets past this crew.

Everything on this site is exactly what I think. Sometimes a brand sends me something to try, sometimes I buy it myself — either way, my opinions are my own, and I only recommend what actually earns its keep in a busy house.
